Nomination Information – Grand Marshal Search 2018

City Begins Search for 2018 Marlborough Labor Day Parade Grand Marshal

Mayor Arthur Vigeant announced that the City of Marlborough has begun its search to find the 2018 Marlborough Labor Day Parade (MLDP) Grand Marshal. The City’s parade committee is looking for unsung heroes that live and volunteer in Marlborough.

Often those that make a difference in our community are those that do it quietly. They are our unsung heroes. Their great efforts do not make the papers, are not talked about at the local coffee shops, but are known so well by those that have been on the receiving end of their efforts. Many recipients have seen the enormous difference these individuals make not only in their lives, but in the lives of so many others in the Marlborough community. The City would like to honor one of these residents as our 2018 Grand Marshal and asks for the community’s help to find them.

The Grand Marshal will be selected based on his or her contributions to the Marlborough community. These volunteer contributions MUST be made beyond the parameters of their job. Each nominator will be asked to explain in 300 words or less why their nominee would be the perfect 2018 Grand Marshal. Each nominator may only submit one name for the 2018 Grand Marshal and duplicate submissions for any one nominee will not increase their chance of selection.

Detailed information is included in the printable flyer below.

Completed forms are due by June 15, 2018 (EXTENDED DATE). Those that do not have access to a computer can contact Leanne Cordischi, the City’s Program Coordinator, at 774-463-9517 for a form. Completed hardcopy forms can be mailed to Marlborough City Hall, 140 Main Street – Attn. – Grand Marshal. Any submission received after May 18th will not be considered. Each nomination form will be reviewed blindly by a Parade subcommittee. The person selected to serve as the 2018 Grand Marshal must be available to attend the September 3, 2018 Parade.
