PREPARATIONS for the parade begin in February, and then move into full gear in April. Many of the groups, that have participated in the past, send their applications in prior to the July 15th deadline with a copy of their group’s insurance binder. All applicants will be considered for the quality and nature of the performance offered, specific needs, and budgetary restrictions, as well as similarity to other groups/bands/floats already accepted into the parade.
ACCEPTED APPLICANTS will be notified no later than August 1, 2017 and will receive a Parade Contract with the negotiated donation amount noted on the form with the group/individual/organization’s Parade Division Assignment. Prior to the submission of an application, applicants are encouraged to read the Rules and Regulations regarding the parade as outlined in the MLDP Manual. The Rules and Regulations have been established to assure a safe and orderly Line of March. Checks and completed contracts that include a copy of your group’s insurance binder are due no later than August 15th. Completed contracts not received by August 15th may result in an organization/group/band/float’s inability to participate in the parade.
