Nominate the 2020 Grand Marshal (application to be posted this spring)

The City of Marlborough will open its 2020 nomination process in early spring to find our 2020 Marlborough Labor Day Parade (MLDP) Grand Marshal; an unsung hero that LIVES and VOLUNTEERS in Marlborough.

Often those that make a difference by volunteering in our community do it quietly. They are our unsung heroes. Their great efforts do not make the papers, are not talked about at the local coffee shops, but are known well by those that have been on the receiving end of their efforts. Many recipients have seen the enormous difference these individuals make not only in their lives, but in the lives of so many others in the Marlborough community.

Those that have seen these heroes and their efforts are now given the opportunity to say THANK YOU! The City is asking for the community’s help to identify these individuals through its MLDP Grand Marshal nomination process. 

The Grand Marshal will be selected based on his or her volunteer contributions to the Marlborough community. These contributions MUST be made beyond the parameters of their job. Each nominator will be asked to explain in 300 words or less why their nominee would be the perfect 2020 Grand Marshal. Each nominator may only submit one name for the 2020 Grand Marshal and duplicate submissions for any one nominee will not increase their chance of selection.

Completed forms are due by May 1, 2020. A Each nomination form will be reviewed blindly by a MLDP subcommittee. The person selected to serve as the 2020 Grand Marshal must be available to attend the September 7, 2020 parade.

Selection will be announced in early summer.
